In NAIDOC Week, starting 7th July, we celebrate all the strengths, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia. The theme of this year's NAIDOC is 'Get UP. Stand UP. Show UP. That message is for all Australians. It's a Call to Action to be part of a process of positive change, healing and growth. In May we took time to reflect on National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week. NAIDOC, National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week are connected: acknowledging and honouring the suffering and resilience of the Stolen Generation and all First Nations' people in Australia, looking forward to what we can all do differently through courageous reconciliation, and finally, celebrating what has been achieved and the achievements that are to come.
